Jewel or Jewel Kilcher is an American singer song writer born in Payson Utah on May 23, 1974. Her music career started when she met Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea saw her performing at a local cafe. She was then discovered by Inga Vainshtein in August of 1993. At the peak of her success she was chosen to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl in January 1998 in San Diego, California.
